I use tarot and oracle cards as tools for reflection and contemplation. Rather than divining the future, they are a way for me to look more deeply at the "now."

Complete (But Not Really)

From the Fountain Tarot, the World; from the Devas of Creation, Source:
The World card signifies that a cycle has been completed; the boundaries of this journey have been marked on the timeline. Any undertaking or developmental action we take - especially when it requires us to invest body, mind and spirit - changes us in ways that are sometimes surprising. It often shifts our views and gives us a deeper understanding of some things. But there is more to learn and do, so that gal better hop off her sphere once she's rested and gear up. Conway describes the Source card as living in full awareness or being awake (as in Buddhism). Once we see with opened eyes and understand with an open mind, we can't go back to sleep. Joy and awe are found not by rewinding to the past or fast-forwarding to the future, but only through what is happening right in front of us. The human life is an adventurous journey with no real destination. We may think we've arrived, but we'll eventually see something new on the horizon and start off again. The present moment can be enticing for those who are curious.
When we are not so self-involved, we begin to realize that the world is speaking to us all of the time. Every plant, every tree, every animal, every person, every car, every airplane is speaking to us, teaching us, awakening us. It’s a wonderful world, but we often miss it. ~ Pema Chodron

  1. Funny how often we think we've arrived before we realize we never will, that is life's point. Pretty sad for someone who is groomed from birth to be something or someone. Mostly never be anyone they might have been

    1. Isn't that the truth. And that kind of expectation never takes into account how much we change as the years roll by.

  2. More orbs of Light. Are you having any dreams of a loved one who have passed to the Summerlands? Catched a faint whiff or a scent of someone you knew? Just wondering. When I see the lights I am assured that loved ones are near.

    1. No dreams that I can remember or other evidence. Nice to think of loving ancestral energy all around though!

  3. Reminds me of the Bowie quote

'The truth is of course is that there is no journey. We are arriving and departing all at the same time'

  4. The way she's perched on that World reminds me more of the Wheel of Fortune. And there is a similarity - the world never stops spinning, the seasons change, the light changes from dawn to dusk. All these wonders we can witness if we open our eyes to the world around us :)

I love that Pema Chodron quote, reminding us that even the "man-made" things in this world can also bring wonder and learning :)

    1. I guess there is a correlation there; even though we complete something or come to a fuller understanding, there's more to do and learn - that wheel or sphere keeps spinning. :)
I too love that Chodron quote; it reminds me to pay attention no matter where I am instead of living in my head all the time.
