I use tarot and oracle cards as tools for reflection and contemplation. Rather than divining the future, they are a way for me to look more deeply at the "now."

That Rare Coin

From the Fey Tarot, the Eight of Pentacles; from the I Misteri della Sibilla, "Money:"
Look at the intense focus of this fey on what she's creating. You don't often see that kind of concentration unless someone is checking their iphone. Oblivious to the paint on her body and clothes, she's completely in the creative "zone." When I get in that mindset where I've lost all track of time and the only thing I'm aware of is what I'm doing, I know I've found something that I enjoy. It may be a hobby, a job or some type of service work. The Money card represents more than just gold coins, it also implies gain of any kind. Doing what I love provides me with a sense of purpose and fulfillment, even if it doesn't top off my bank account.

  1. Me too. I love this feeling when I paint or do something like that.
I drew this card today too but it wasn't about the zone but rather about doing the same job over and over again....

    1. That's how I usually interpret it, practicing to get better at a skill. But this card just took me in a different direction. :)

  2. Ha ha, I just finished talking to three people about how I'll happily 'work' for free when it's something I enjoy. I'm constantly grateful that there are so many things in my life that get me in the zone! One friend says he hardly ever feels that, in work or leisure: how sad is that?!
Hope you found something to take you there today, Bev :)

    1. That is sad! I took a walk around a large, local lake today; there was a nice breeze with a hint of fall in it. I was definitely in the zone! :)
