From the Urban Tarot, the Knight (King) of Disks; from the Principles to Live By tiles, Equanimity:
Scott writes that the Disks court is a quiet group, determined and devoted, letting their work speak for itself. Resourceful is another description of this collective. Scott's Knight/King of Disks illustrates this trait, creating an amazing feast with what he has at hand. He knows how to improvise and think on his feet when an ingredient is missing or the unexpected happens. Such a situation is an appropriate transition to the Equanimity, a principle that represents the ability to remain calm and clear when we get the rug pulled out from beneath us. It doesn't mean we're indifferent to our circumstances, but that we are able to manage our emotions so that we respond rationally and constructively.
I didn’t realize this was a Thoth-based deck. It is disconcerting that she’s renamed the Kings as “Knight” in this deck. I found her Swords to be disappointing. Still, as decks go these days this is pretty interesting. My Out of Hand Tarot rolled in yesterday—great book, I went through all the cards yesterday. I’ll start using it today. (Judy)
ReplyDeleteI always forget, but the 'disks' suit reminds me. All Thoth-style decks seem to make this switch. I'm so happy you got the Out of Hand Tarot! We are freezing here (expecting temperatures in the teens with wind chills bringing it much lower). We should have several inches of snow late today! If this keeps up, we may have to invest in a new wardrobe. I've already had to borrow some leggings from my daughter to wear under my pants!
DeleteYikes, it reminds me of here because they don’t have much snow removal equipment and during one winter we were snowed in for 3 days until they were able to clear the street. I don’t imagine your stores down there carry winter coats. If it’s any consolation the temperature in my living room is 58F this morning. My hands are too cold to paint. (J)
DeleteHigh today will be 34, but it will be dropping rapidly soon. I'm working on saving a couple of feral cats before it hits.
DeleteOh YES, save the cats, just make sure you don’t let them near your own cats because they might have FIV or Feline Leukemia or herpes. They need to be tested.
