I use tarot and oracle cards as tools for reflection and contemplation. Rather than divining the future, they are a way for me to look more deeply at the "now."

Friendly Competition?

From the Forest of Enchantment Tarot, the Five of Spells (Wands); from the Mystic Mushrooms, Pigskin Puffball:

The frog-boys (some in more human form than others) are having a mock battle to hone their skills. Such competition, whether it's mental like a debate or physical like a sport, can help us learn our strengths and weaknesses. We discover what we've overlooked or ignored, which helps us develop a more rounded ability. Yet Pigskin Puffball implies caution. The thick covering of this mushroom looks much like the leather on an American football, thus its common name. It reminds us that contests are meant to be friendly and playful, like a game, and not devolve into a no-holds-barred war. In fact, that's part of the reason to engage in them - to learn how to maintain our reasoning or physical skills without letting emotions cloud our focus.

Like a forest fire, anger tends to burn up its own support.

  1. so this puffball was only discovered and identified after football was invented? Interesting.

    1. Goodness no. It's always had a Latin name, but was given the common name later. :)
